Hello Summer Brides ☼
It’s officially summer and if you are a summer bride, Congratulations!
Getting your makeup done!
Hiring a professional makeup artist that fits your style and has the knowledge on what products work the best for your skin is important.
I always give several recommendations to my brides in any season especially for the warmest season of the year.
If you are getting your makeup done by a professional or instead you decide to do your own makeup, here are some of my best tips that can help you be prepared for your big day!
Skin Prep
It’s a pretty big deal to start a skincare routine and get regular facials months before your wedding. On your wedding day focus on hydration, start with a clean canvas and prepare your skin with serums and moisturizers ideal for your type of skin.
Go shopping!
Look for makeup that says long wear, waterproof and sweat resistant.
Are you getting a tan?
No matter what season, tanning is a very common beauty preparation before the wedding, many love a bronze skin that glows from within but I don’t recommend to get it from direct sunlight, in reality this time of the year you can get a natural tan even in the shade! Just do it safely and protect your skin. As your makeup artist I will match your face to your neck and chest with foundation. I will strategically apply bronzer in the areas where the sun would naturally hit, such as forehead, bridge of the nose and a little bit underneath the apple of the cheeks to give you a fresh and natural summer look.
Complexion
A lightweight foundation and a matte powder finish will look and photograph beautiful.
Powder or Cream Bronzers?
Personally, I use both, the cream bronzer formula will give you a skinlike finish, and the powder bronzer is a little more precise and more matte.
If you are using a bronzer to contour your face, use a matte powder formula. Bronzers are warm toned so if you have a fair complexion shop for neutral bronzers instead. If you have more of a golden undertone opt for a bronzer with similar shade. If you have a deeper skin and your skin tends to look redder after a little bit of sun you would look fantastic with terracotta or red-brown shades.
Forever Blush!
A cream and powder blush are both the ideal formula for a summer bride’s cheeks, you will get the dewy glow from the cream and the longevity from the powder.
Eyeshadows and Lips
Stick to nudes, corals, peach and pink tones.
Last but not Least!
Blotting Paper is great to tone down any oil and perspiration. It’s a convenient way to freshen up in a just few seconds.
