What’s the difference between Bridal Makeup and Regular Makeup
I get asked why bridal makeup cost more and how it is different from a party or regular makeup. Simple, a bridal makeup is a luxury on location service.
It is not the same as going to a party as a guest, then to a party as the bride, not only is it one of the most special days of your life but you will be the center of attention.
Different factors make a bridal makeup and a regular makeup session different…
Time
A client that wants party makeup does not need the same amount of time and contact that a bride requires.
It usually takes me between 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete a party makeup, but the bridal makeup will take me 2 hours. Bridal makeup should last throughout the whole event so the least the bride must touch up the better.
I always prepare the skin for all my clients but with my brides I allow myself more time, I like to apply a hydrating mask and because it’s such an important day I spend more time pampering their skin.
Moreover, the time spent corresponding with the bride, answering all her questions, organizing trial details, drawing up bridal contracts, makeup timeline, etc.; while a regular makeup session the process of booking is much easier.
Transportation
Traveling at a bride’s convenience is a luxury! I carry my makeup kit and bring my own lighting source and chair. I always come to my brides, to their venue, hotel or home because it’s a day when they shouldn’t be going anywhere, just relax and enjoy their morning despite all the excitement and nervousness.
The only time I come to a client that books me for a regular makeup is when I have enough availability on that day and they are ok to pay for a travel fee, but most of the time they come to me instead.
Product investment
All my makeup are high end brands but the products that I use for my brides are the best of the best that I have in my kit from the skincare to the makeup.
The bridal makeup also includes a touch up kit that has the lipstick that I used on the bride, the loose powder and few more things that can be helpful for the bride to use throughout her day.
A Makeup artist and more
On the wedding day I’m not only there for the bride’s makeup but also to help her with anything else that she might need. I don’t leave until she is in her dress and ready for her photos! I do treat all my clients with the same respect and professionalism, but I love being part of a bride’s day and everything I do is intended to make her feel and look the most beautiful and confident on one of the most important days of her life. Let’s not forget that a bride’s look will be captured in photos forever!
