As you are beginning to budget and book everything else, it is just as important to fit your makeup artist into your list, that way if an artist is above your budget or you were not satisfied with their work you still have enough time to move on and keep searching. Find a makeup artist whose style speaks to you.
It’s important to find an artist whose style is cohesive with the look that you’re going for. Always look for a portfolio that will help you figure out their signature style. Referrals and reviews are my number one to pay attention to, and a legitimate website always shows professionalism. Instagram can give you a general idea of the artist’s style but it doesn’t tell the whole story about their work especially if their pictures are over edited and full of filters.

Before even thinking about doing your own makeup or asking your best friend hear me out. On your wedding day all eyes will be on you, you will be photographed and these pictures are going to be looked at for years to come. People won’t remember what music was playing or the cake that was served, instead they’ll remember how happy and gorgeous the couple looked. The reason for choosing a professional makeup artist is not to completely change how you look but enhance your look in itself. Don’t settle and INVEST in yourself.
