Highlighters, Blush and Bronzer!
With this fabulous trio you add dimension, freshness or glamour! This is the trick that celebrities use to glow on that red carpet. Ok, you may not be a celebrity (me neither) but who doesn’t like to feel like one sometimes? At a wedding, that fancy dinner or that big event! Bronzer should be applied with a big and fluffy brush in the areas where the sun would naturally hit. These areas are the perimeter of the face, forehead, jawline, nose and neck. The whole purpose of the bronzer is to make natural looking-warmth so it’s important to understand how the skin naturally tans. I always recommend semi-matt or matt bronzer so that way you can blend it down to your neck area more confidently. Always remember that your face should NOT look browner than your body, if you have medium to dark skin you can use bronzer for a fantastic glow but if you have pale skin and you still want to have the sun-kissed effect you may want to darken your body a little with spray tan and use a foundation at least two shades darker for your face and neck.
If you have been following me for a while you can tell I don’t skip Blush, I am usually drawn to warm pink and apricot shades. Go for the blush that mimics your natural flush and always apply it with a light touch on the apple of the cheeks blending it until disappear towards the temples, light sweep on forehead and chin to create cohesiveness. Keep it natural and healthy.
Highlighters are fun! They enhance your complexion and gives your skin a shiny boost. Lightly apply on the brow bone, upper cheekbone, inner corners of the eyes and bridge of nose, I am not a fan of applying highlighters on the cupids bow but some people like it. I like to use a fluffy but smaller brush than the one I use for my blush; this way I have more control of the highlight I’m creating. Make sure to tap off the excess powder every time you pick up product. Highlighters definitely take your look to the next level!
