How to Shine on your Wedding Day ♡

March has been a productive month, after doing makeup for 3 lovely brides, a bridal expo and my branding photoshoot so many exciting things have happened but meeting  some of my future brides at their bridal trial appointments is one of my favorite things to do because I get to meet them in person, answer their questions and guide them about their makeup needs. Well, spring is almost here yay! Let’s talk about how to look amazing on your wedding day!

Do the research

If you dislike wearing a lot of makeup don’t book an artist that only does heavy glam, and it works the same the other way. If you are a heavy glam lover only reach out to artists that show it. Always do the research and find out about the artist’s website and look for their work, what does her images say to you?

Book your Makeup artist in advance

Don’t forget that the longer you take to book, the quicker that date will be secure by another person, if you don't want to miss the chance, book early!

Book a Trial

Several bridal trials also known as previews are on my calendar this year, they are not mandatory but I highly recommend it to avoid surprises. A trial is a preliminary makeup session where you decide what makeup look you’ll wear on your wedding day; In addition, you get to know me, I get to know you, so you know what to expect out of the whole experience. Trials are held at my home studio in Middletown two to three months before your wedding day.

Avoid trying new treatments one month before

Many brides get impatient on the month of their wedding and want to try new things that don’t always result in what they wanted. Anything new you might want to try, don’t do it the month of your wedding. Things like new hair color, spray tans, new brows, injections, facial treatments. This could cause you irritation or unexpected reactions in your skin.

Avoid alcohol the night before

Alcohol affects directly your sleep, digestion and skin, causing inflammation and retention of liquids, especially in the eyes area.

Rest

I know you are so excited you can’t sleep but try to rest well the night before. If it’s possible take the day off I always tell my brides prepare a relaxing bath, listen to your favorite music, meditate, listen to a calming podcast, even a physical activity or any other activity that reduces anxiety. If you rest enough, it will make your skin look fresh and luminous.

Enjoy

Nerves will be present until you say “I do” and that’s ok, it just means that you can’t wait to be married. Don’t forget to enjoy and think that no matter what, it will be a beautiful day!
